Ahhh Apple Computers, they were riding high in the 80s, refused to die in the 90s, then resurfaced in the 2000s with a hip new image, and a product line centered around MP3 players.  Ever since the release of the venerable ipod Apple has been consistently gaining in computer market share.  My own distaste for their Macintosh line has waned quite a bit since the release of OSX which is a very good operating system.  However, recently i’ve noticed something quite troubling about the plucky little computer company from Cuppertino.

They’ve turned into elitist assholes.  That’s right, i said it.  Lest you think I am a Microsoft fanboy, I own a macbook pro, 3 ipods and an iphone.  I’ve also been using Macs for years (since the G3).  Not that i think i really have to defend my opinion that they’re elitist assholes, it’s something everyone knows.  Walk into any apple store.  See the vast array of hipster jackoff’s working there with their hair done perfectly to look as if they’ve just woken up, and wearing their white belts.  Notice the large percentage of female clientele all sporting their tattered/frayed scarves (in 80 degree weather no less).  Most of all… notice the price.

Anyone who buys a computer for $2000 when they can get a comparable PC for $600-1000 is just a fucking tool.  That is… if the computer is meant to be used.  If it’s just a fashion accessory then by all means spend the $2000.  After all we could all stand to look cooler while we order our 32 oz flavored coffees and pretend to work at the coffee shop.  Oh and have fun spending another $2k for a computer when Apple decides that your model is too obsolete to support any longer.  That should be sometime next year.
