Oh and comparing Obama to Hitler? Since when did raising the marginal tax rate 3% make you equivalent to a dictator that tried to ethnically cleanse the jews? Stomping on the constitution? You know who did that? BUSH! You know, the patriot act? I weep for this country, because you don’t even realize that YOU are the problem.

Internet commenters i have a tip for you. Nobody believes that you’re normal, or that you’re attractive to the opposite sex, or whatever else you’re claiming. Why? BECAUSE YOU’RE COMMENTING ON THE FUCKING INTERNET.

First they push pre-orders.  This ensures that they only need to purchase new games from the publishers to fill their pre-orders.  So if they have 10 preorders they might buy 12 copies from the publisher.

Next they heavily promote trading games in.  This is by far the biggest scam for videogame consumers.  You can trade in a game for 20 - 30 dollars then gamestop will turn around and sell it for double, sometimes even triple what you traded it in for.  Once a game is used all of that profit goes to gamestop rather than to the publishers.  That pretty much covers their business model.  What else could i possibly hate?

The employees.  I have never once received good service at a gamestop or electronics boutique.  The employees tend to be lazy, stoned, or both.  Typically if there’s a long line one employee will be working, while another just sits there stacking games.

The customers.  The ones that hang out in gamestop reading magazines, talking to the employees, playing the game kiosks.  The problem is that the stores are usually small and they usually hang out right in the way of the check out line.  They’re just taking up space, and wasting time.  If your time is so unvaluable why don’t you go volunteer somewhere you fucking dork.

There is a reason why all developers and publishers are pushing for digital distribution.  It is because of stores like gamestop.  These stores take games out of the usual profit/revenue circulation for the publisher and horde all profits from ‘used’ games for themselves.  They will be bankrupt soon enough thanks to digital distribution, good riddance i say.

They say things about govt. healthcare like ‘beaurocrats will be in charge of medical decisions instead of doctors.’  The funny thing is, that’s exactly what’s going on now.  You have some fucker with a rubber stamp deciding your procedure is too expensive, and since you once had the flu back in ‘92 they’re going to drop you from their healthcare plan.  They also say you will have no choice.  Well i have no fucking choice right now.  I’m stuck with the insurance my company chooses to get.  I do have choices between absolute shit and polished turd AMONG those plans though.

Those people who argue about socialism.  Get your head out of your fucking ass.  We have many many socialized areas in our life.  Half the shit you eat is being socialized.  (Since we pay a subsidy on corn and corn is in turn used in almost everything from coke to chicken mcnuggets).  Our energy used to be ’socialized’ in that it was heavily regulated.  Enron fought this and successfully got this removed in California.  The result?  Rolling blackouts and the ability of Enron to charge 1000 times the going rate for electricity.

This is what happens with unfettered free market capitalism.  Greed will always win out.  Now i ask you, is your health, or the health, livelihood, or life expectancy of a SINGLE human being worth monetizing in this way?  I think deep down you know the answer to that.  If you’re still arguing against it, then you’re just a stupid motherfucker.

Republicans, wtf is your problem?  All you seem to do nowadays is say no.  Yeah, yeah, you lost wahhhh.  You can still get something done.  All you seem to care about is being negative and picking everything apart.  Oh and i didn’t think you guys could get any fucking nuttier than when GW was in office.  Wow, was i ever wrong.  Glenn Beck…. Rush Limbaugh… you really need to distance yourselves from those whackjobs.  Oh, and while you’re at it you might want to get rid of the evangelical christians, they aren’t helping you either.

Basically i’m saying American politics in general has become a pathetic circus sideshow.  GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.

Ahhh Fable.  That overhyped, overpromised Microsoft exclusive RPG.  Fable exists on the premise of the players ability to dynamically affect the world of Albion.  The Fable series has sold over 5 million copies on both the xbox and xbox 360.  I would say that’s pretty successful, so how could i possibly hate it?

Peter Molyneaux the games lead designer has a history of over promising and under delivering with Fable.  He promises a game where the players actions affect the game world, along with a riveting emotional storyline.  He misses on both marks.  On top of this the NPCs of Fable are supposed to realistically react to the player, be he (or she) good or evil.  How can you tell an NPCs reaction to your actions?  Little icons that float over their heads.  Apparently running into the middle of a town, dancing and cracking jokes makes people like you, and women want to have sex with you.  Speaking of sex i think i must be hanging out with the wrong people because according to fable you can just compliment a woman by giving her a thumbs up then giving her a flower to get her all hot and bothered.

Where else did this game go wrong?  It promised a lush open world.  Perhaps i was expecting too much, because to me, a lush open world = grand theft auto 4.  Meaning i don’t want to see a fucking load screen everytime i run 50 paces.  Even the towns have separate areas for christs sake!  Oh, and good luck making heads or tails out of the world map.

Molyneaux also promised simple but deep combat.  Another miss!  Noticing a trend here?  Here’s how combat works.  X attacks, Y shoots your gun or bow, and B does magic.  You can do all the basic stuff like rolling to evade, light attacks, heavy attacks and blocks.  In all honesty this is what combat boils down to.  Hold down the B button with the lightning magic equiped.  Shock all the enemies around you then attack with the X button.  Every now and then you might throw in a heavy attack by holding down X.  Well…. he certainly got simple right.

As far as an epic emotional storyline…  Lets just say the final boss battle is with a floating triangle. Yes, that’s right…. a fucking triangle.  Epic.  As for the emotion, i felt nothing for any characters including my own wife and children in the game.  Then again it’s always possible i’m just a cold bastard.  No, i didn’t even care when my dog died.

As you can see i had a lot of problems with Fable 2.  What i’ve listed actually just scratches the surface.  I didn’t even get into the horrendous co-op where both people share the same camera…. who thought that was a good idea???  In fact the most fun i had with this game was serving beers at the bar to earn enough money to buy up all the property in the game.  That, my friends, is pathetic.

That means STOPPING at a red light, yielding at a yield sign, and most importantly STOPPING at a crosswalk when there’s a red hand.  You wait for the little white man walking icon before you go. The thing is most bikers don’t do these simple things… selfish buggers that they are. I suppose being on a mode of transportation meant for children reduces them to the childish mentality that they are the only people who matter or exist in the world. Go fuck yourselves.

The same thing happens with art except it’s styles that become inspiration. For example painting used to strictly represent things as photo-realistically as possible. Then came the camera and painting was freed from representation. The first thing to go was strict color, then proportion, all on the road to full blown abstraction. The early abstract artists (Picasso, Kandinsky, etc), however, all learned traditional painting first. Rooted in classical knowledge they then branched out to create something new. Even the abstract expressionists of the 50s could draw. Nowadays you have painters who would have trouble with a fucking stick figure.

This is really something that happens in any creative field. Comedians might go something like George Carlin -> Louis CK -> some joke stealing shit like Dane Cook. The point being that each successive generation becomes just a little bit more watered down than the previous one. Each successive generation knows a little bit less than the previous. I shudder to think what music is going to sound like when we have bands that are influence by blink 182. Hopefully i’ll be dead by then.
