p90x review
Well i was originally going to post a standard negaview about p90x. The honest to god truth however, is that it works. Here’s the thing though. It only works if YOU work. What do i mean by that?
Well, p90x is a set of exercises that last for 90 days. Most weeks you’re exercising 6 days a week for roughly 1 - 1.5 hours. This is where p90x will fall apart for most Americans. Being a generally fat and lazy nation, i don’t think most people will have the willpower to follow through on 90 straight days of this. For those that can, you will see results. While i was able to follow the exercises i did not follow the nutrition guide, so i can only imagine the results i would have gotten had i followed that. The fact that i saw results at all considering the amount of horrible food i was eating is amazing. I will say this as well. This is a workout for people that are already relatively in shape. Prior to trying this i went to the gym 4 times a week for about an hour to an hour and a half each time. Don’t think you’re going to go from sitting on the couch eating dorrito’s to one of the above images in 90 days.
The workout is broken into 3 phases with the first 2 phases having 3 weeks of exercise and 1 rest week. The final phase is 4 weeks of exercise (they alternate between phase 1 and 2 exercises week to week) and 1 final rest week. They are broken into 1 day of resistance (pushups, curls, pull ups, etc) followed by a day of either cardio or yoga. Let me get this out of the way right now. The first week will be one of the most painful exercise weeks you will ever experience. After my first plyometrics workout i had trouble getting out of chairs for about 4 days straight.
So there you have it, my first (generally) positive review of something. I’m as shocked as you are.
PS. If you want a more in depth review look here.

A review site with a slightly negative bent. In other words, we love to hate.
I went from the couch eating Doritos to p90x and while I don’t look like the cover of p90x I am definitely more cut, less fat! so there!
1Correct me if i’m wrong but you eased into it over the course of a week or 2. You didn’t go from zero straight to the full schedule.
2That is correct. I did each workout in Phase I once over the course of two weeks so I knew what I was getting into before I started, which I think was a big help!
